DAY 11 Santona to SANTANDER ( 35kms)

A Long Day.

It is now over two years since I walked this route and a good while since my last posting. Since then I have started walking the Via Podensis from Le Puy in France. I may write a blog about that later. For now I take up my Camino, now into the eleventh day and approaching Santander.

sun rise We decide to have a go at getting to Santander today and we are breakfasted and off early before the sun rises.The walk out of Santona takes us over a promentary as the sun rises over the beach behind us.

There follows some beach walking until we head inland through low valleys towards Guemes.

    • As it’s a retrospective blog the ending is slightly spoilt because I do get there! Looking back at my little diary there are a few adventures on the way. Hope you are enjoying your hunkered down days before returning to ‘civilisation’

      • Still beautiful Tim! Yes, it is lovely as always but so cold!!! Plenty of free firewood though and toast on the griddle!
